The Coalition for Educational Development (CED) organized a Capacity Building Workshop on Education Finance and Budget Processing on 31st May 2025 at SAPSRI, Colombo, with the participation of over 45 representatives from member organizations across the island. The session was conducted by Mr. R.H.W.A. Kumarasiri, Deputy Director of the Planning Department, Ministry of Finance, who shared valuable insights on effective education budgeting and financial accountability. The workshop covered key areas including the fundamentals of education finance, budget planning and allocation, transparency and accountability mechanisms, and tools for monitoring and evaluation. CED has planned to carry out advocacy initiatives targeting the National Education budget. with the collaboration of the participants in the next couple of months.
