The Coalition for Educational Development (CED) held its 2024 Annual General Meeting and Election on 15th November 2025 at the Community Education Center, Colombo, attended by 52 member organizations.
Chairman Dr. Chandana Bandara reviewed CED’s 2024 programs and achievements, while Treasurer Mr. Chaminda Piyasekara presented the financial report. The meeting included strategic discussions for the year 2024–2025 period. All members proposed new ideas to achieve the quality education in Sri Lanka.
Mr. Sachitha Hewage was elected as the new Chairman and Mr.Nihal Premasiri became the new Secretary, and Mr. Chaminda Piyasekara was re-elected as the Treasurer. Provincial directors are as follows: Dr. Chandana Bandara (Central Province), Dr. K.L. Gunarathna (Western Province). Mr. K.G.A.S. Weerasinghe (North Central Province), Ms. Naguleshwary (Uva Province), Mr. Premabandu Jayathilaka (Southern Province), Mr. Mangala Lal Sathkumara (North Western Province), Mr. M.A.J.Riyaz (Eastern Province), and Mr. Nishantha Kasthuri (Sabaragamuwa Province).
CED would like to thank the past director board for their support in shaping a stable, brighter future for education and community development. At the same time, CED wishes for a new board. We will be working together to achieve quality education.
