Government budgets reflect the government policy priorities for a certain time period. Financial allocation is important in developing any sector and CED Sri Lanka has been involved in budget advocacy activities for a long time. Targeting the national budget in 2021 CED Sri Lanka planned an islandwide campaign with the member organizations in order to lobby the members of parliament to allocate sufficient budget to the education sector. With the prevalent pandemic situation, due to the lock downs, the traditional onsite education system encountered difficulties and to address the issues and continue education online education platforms/methods were introduced. In order to provide online education for the remote and disadvantaged community it is important to develop and increase the infrastructure facilities for the school network. With a national level consultation CED identified and prioritized these proposals. CED requested the member organizations to send the proposals that need to be considered in this process. Followed by the consultation CED Sri Lanka demanded the members of parliament to raise their voice to allocate sufficient funding for the education sector in the budget process. These proposal were published in the National news papers in Sinhala and Tamil languages
