The Civil Society spotlight report on SDG 04 closely monitors the progress achievements and gaps in implementation of the policies and programmes towards achieving SDG 04 in Sri Lanka. The first civil society SDG 04 report has been compiled by CED in 2019 and the second report released in 2021. This report aims to identify new and emerging challenges around equity, gender, and financing in SDG 4 that were magnified by the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and articulate education’s role in the path towards sustainable and resilient recovery. In addition the report highlights the critical interlinkages of SDG 4 with the other SDGs and discusses the ways education can catalyze actions to achieve the 2030 Agenda. This report could be used to assess the progress that Sri Lanka has made in the previous year. and at the sametime the evidence based recommendation will serve as a solid base to plan effective advocacy .
