With the technical and financial support of the ASPBAE – Adult Education and Lifelong Learning in the Asia South Pacific Youth Project, the Coalition for Educational Development (CED) conducted a Youth-Led Action Research on Combating Racism and Identity-Based Discrimination in Education in Sri Lanka.
Through this research, young people identified not only the limited availability of documented cases, but also highlighted deeper structural, institutional, and social challenges within the national education system. These findings reflect the lived experiences of youth and underline the urgent need for inclusive and equitable education reforms.
Based on the research outcomes, the CED Youth Team employed multiple advocacy tools to document, present, and amplify these issues. The Youth Action Research Report has been formally submitted to relevant education authorities and officers in Sri Lanka, with the aim of influencing policy dialogue and action.
Special appreciation is extended to ASPBAE for its continued funding, technical guidance, and support for this important youth-led initiative.
