Youth in Sri Lanka face numerous challenges in securing opportunities in several aspects in their life including education, employment and political participation. These challenges make a significant negative impact to reach the desired goals of their life. One of the reasons that contributes to this situation is inadequate guidance, support and opportunities for youth to develop them as change makers and role models. The Youth-led Action Research (YAR) project aimed to address some of these issues and to build capacity of the youth to analyze the problems in their community and find solutions through participatory approach. Developing the capacity of the youth as change makers is significant to achieve sustainable development goals that expect social transformation in the world. CED believes that the YAR project is an entry point to motivate the youth to take the leadership and initiation action towards that transformation.
